Elliott County administrators recently visited the Eastern Kentucky Advance Manufacturing Institute (eKAMI) in Paintsville. They toured the facility and talked to students currently enrolled in the program. Last September, the first group of high school seniors was enrolled in the program. By completing the program in May, they will be eligible to exit the program with as many as eight national industry certifications enabling them to be competitive for jobs as machinists at facilities such as Marathon and Lockheed Martin. Many thanks to eKAMI Director, Kathy Walker, and eKAMI Board of Director Member, LSCC Warden David Green, for making this FREE opportunity available for two members of Elliott County's graduating class!
