On November 26th 2019 the ECHS JROTC program took 28 cadets on a trip to Ashland, KY to march in their annual Christmas Parade. This is the 2nd year that our program has participated in the parade. This year’s theme was “Candy Cane Christmas”.
The parade did not kick off until 7:00 pm so we planned and organized a group meal at Golden Corral, toured the Festival of trees at the Paramount Theater in downtown Ashland (Awesome!), and then marched in the parade. It was a special time and our cadets received a warm welcome from all the people that were at the parade. The event was a learning experience for our cadets and we left Ashland in the Christmas spirit.
This event allowed our unit to meet the JROTC requirement to participate in a community event. Our cadets were very professional, represented our school well, and were very thankful for the opportunity to march.
If you are a student at ECHS and are reading this article consider joining our ECHS JROTC program. Our program is looking to grow and we would like to invite you to be part of the team.
