JROTC

On February 13th 2025, the Elliott County Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) program went to the Elliott County Middle School (ECMS) to conduct their service learning project on emergency services. Before this event they were trained under the guidance of local fire fighter Allen Kuehner and Resource Officer Jacob Ferguson on emergency services procedures. They learned critical skills such as: “Stop, Drop, and Roll” for extinguishing flames, establishing a meeting point outside for emergencies, and 911 protocol. The Elliott County JROTC Program completes a service learning project every year to reinforce responsibility, selfless service, and lifelong learning. This service project provided lifelong learning which aligns with the JROTC Mission to motivate young people to become better citizens.
