Dear Elliott County School Community,
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we share the tragic news of the passing of Allison
Simmons, a loving student of Elliott County Middle School. Allison was a caring individual
who touched the lives of so many around her. The loss of such a young life leaves an
unimaginable void in our school community.
During this difficult time, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Allison’s family, friends, and
all those who had the privilege of knowing her. We understand this news may be especially hard
for students, faculty, and staff who interacted with Allison. Grieving is a personal journey, and
we encourage everyone to lean on one another for support.
Our school will be offering resources, including counseling service, to support those affected by
this loss. Please do not hesitate to reach out Elliott County Middle School if you need help
navigating this difficult time.
As we remember Allison, let us come together to honor her memory and provide comfort to one
another. In moments like these, our strengths lies in our unity and compassion.
We will be keeping Allison’s family in our thoughts, and we will continue to support them in any
we can.
With deepest sympathy,
Dolly Fannin

Ensuring the safety of our students is the top priority for our school district. Each year, we invite a team of first responders to conduct a thorough tour of both the interior and exterior of every school building. This practice allows them to provide valuable suggestions for enhancing school safety and familiarizes them with the layout of our schools. This year, we would like to extend our gratitude to the following individuals for their participation: Deputy Casey Brammell (Sheriff’s Office), Trooper Zach Haney (Kentucky State Police), Allen and Nancy Kuehner (504 Fire Department), Dale Howard (Sandy Hook Fire Department), Michael Wagner (School District Safety Coordinator), Jim Skaggs (Emergency Management), Caleb Skaggs (Dispatch), and Darren Newell (EMS and Isonville Fire Department).
