Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program Elliott County Primary/Intermediate Schools Dear Parents, Your child’s school has been awarded a Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) USDA grant SY 23-24.The grant is administered by USDA and the Division of School and Community Nutrition, KDE and coordinated by Elliott County Board of Education Child Nutrition Services. A fresh fruit or vegetable snack will be provided for all students K-5 3 days each week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) Elliott County Primary $13,420.00 Elliott County Intermediate $12,139.00 The Goal of the FFVP is to: • Create healthier school environments by providing healthier food choices • Expand the variety of fruits and vegetables children experience • Increase children’s fruit and vegetable consumption • Make a difference in children’s diets to impact their present and future health Children will be encouraged to try the fruit or vegetable snack each day, but they may opt to not participate if they do not like or cannot eat the fruit or vegetable offered that day. Please encourage your child to participate in the snack program to further emphasize the importance of good nutrition. Public Auction Notice Elliott County Schools will be conducting an absolute action on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. to dispose of a doublewide modular classroom located near the greenhouse behind Elliott County High School. Dimensions of the unit are approximately 28’ X 70’. Interested parties may inspect the unit on Saturday, May 6 from 9:00 a.m. until time of sale. The successful bidder is required to remove the unit from the site before Saturday, June 3, 2023. Elliott Schools' Superintendent Vacancy The Elliott County Board of Education is seeking a visionary, innovative leader who values transparency. Would like to congratulate these seniors Cameron Wilder, Gary Keeton, and Dominick McDaniel for earning their Gas Metal Arc Welding Certification. This is the 3rd certification for Gary, and the 2nd for Cameron and Dominick. All three seniors are currently enrolled to MCTC welding program where they will be attending school after graduation.

The Elliott County Middle School (ECMS) School Based Decision Making (SBDM) council is requesting nominations for parent representatives. Nominations will be accepted today through April 25, 2022. Parents that will have students in grades 6-8 for the 2020-2021 schools year are eligible for nomination. Those parents that accept their nomination will be placed on a ballot for election May 2-6, 2022 . For more information about the ECMS SBDMC please call 738-8102 or 738-8002.

ECHS Seniors Gary Keeton, Dominick McDaniel and Camera Wilder gain valuable experience while fabricating a rebuild on a loader bucket. Not only is the welding in real application necessary, but learning how to work together as a team, safe and efficient is a must in the workplace.

Elliott County Schools will be on a 2-hour delay on Monday, March 14.
